About Katherine Airey
Katherine Airey (or “Kat” as known by her patient’s), completed her physiotherapy degree in 2013 at the University of the Witwatersrand. She did her community service at several clinics in Lenasia. In 2015 she began her work in private practice based in a hospital on the West Rand where she worked for three years, gaining experience with several orthopaedic surgeons, and in several areas of physiotherapy including both post-surgical in-patient’s and neuromusculoskeletal out-patient’s.
During the past 2 years, Kat, was based at a gym-based practice where she cultivated her interest and passion in sports medicine and orthopaedic related injuries and rehabilitation. She has worked closely with dancers from the Jozi Youth Dance Company (JYDC). As part of this interest, Kat, enjoys weight training and training towards her first ½ running marathon.
She completed her Sports Physiotherapy diploma (SPT1) in 2018.
Recently she has completed a qualification in Cancer Rehabilitation with PINC & STEELE, which includes guidance and support for women with cancer.
Kat is a member of:
- The Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- The South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP)
